Women Empowerment
MWAOO equips Maasai women with skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve independence and leadership in their communities.
We are dedicated to uplifting Maasai women and orphaned children through education, healthcare, and socio-economic programs
The Maasai Women and Orphans Organisation (MWAOO) is a community-based, non-profit organisation operating in Monduli District, Arusha Region, in the United Republic of Tanzania. MWAOO exists to improve the lives of Maasai women, orphaned and vulnerable children by expanding access to education, healthcare, food security, and economic opportunity.
We believe that by lifting women and children, we uplift entire communities.
Our initiatives focus on women empowerment, education for children, healthcare, and community development
Together, we build stronger, sustainable communities.
MWAOO equips Maasai women with skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve independence and leadership in their communities.
MWAOO ensures that orphaned and vulnerable children have access to education, healthcare and psychosocial support
MWAOO promotes health and wellness through nutrition and food security programs, maternal healthcare initiatives, and preventive health education and vaccination campaigns
MWAOO fosters sustainable development through environmental conservation, income-generating activities, and cultural preservation initiatives.
In Monduli’s Maasai communities, women and orphaned children often face the greatest barriers to education, healthcare, and economic independence — and the deepest exposure to harmful practices like child marriage, gender-based violence, and FGM. MWAOO exists to change that, one family and one village at a time.
Together, We Can Make a Difference.
Our initiatives focus on women empowerment, education for children, healthcare, and community development
